As you prepare your manuscript for submission to a scholarly journal, you will need to follow extensive guidelines for figures, making adjustments to the resolution, file type, size, colors, and font. You want to be sure that your figures follow these guidelines exactly, remain as clear and legible as possible, and are properly prepared for publication.

Our figure formatting service includes file type and resolution changes according to the journal’s guidelines, basic re-drawing of the figure, and improvements to readability (including changes to font, scale, and layout). The price for figure formatting is $40 per figure.
Please note: figures containing text and line-art that have been saved as pixelated images will need to be re-drawn to create high-resolution figures. For ethical reasons, graphs saved as pixelated images should not be re-drawn. To avoid this restriction, please submit files in the format in which they were originally created whenever possible.
In addition to preparing existing figures, we can also generate brand new figures from raw data or original illustrations based on sketches. Our formatters and designers work directly with authors to create the desired figures. Due to the unique nature of this service, pricing will vary based on the project. We will provide a custom quote based on your specific request.
All figure services are handled on a highly customized basis, so for both levels of service you will need to submit your files and service request via email to support@journalexperts.com. Tell us the level of service you need (Figure Formatting or Custom Figure Creation), the name of the journal (so we can reference the guidelines), and attach all of your figure files. You will then be able to log in to your AJE account to track and process your order. We will contact you directly with any questions about your figures during the process. File types that are not on this list should be exported as EPS files. We can also advise authors using alternative software on the best procedure to export figures in one of our recommended file types.
