Editing servicesAt American Journal Experts, we understand the importance of publishing your research in the absolute best journal possible. In an environment where your reputation depends on the written word, it is essential to present the best possible manuscript to the scientific community. AJE allows you to concentrate on your research, not your English skills, by bringing you in contact with our subject-expert editors. An editor from your field will read and edit your manuscript so that it will be ready for the top English language journals. Our editors DO:
We do NOT:
Two Levels of ServiceTo accommodate the needs of various clients, AJE now offers two levels of service. Most researchers will be satisfied with our Standard Document Proofing, which for years was our only level of service. Thousands of customers have come to rely on our Standard Document Proofing for comprehensive English-language editing. Recently, we introduced our Premium Document Editing service to cater to a small number of customers who desire a more in-depth edit. Read the descriptions below to decide which service is the best fit for you. Standard Document ProofingOur standard document proofing is done by one subject-expert editor and approved by a managing editor. The two editors working on your document will focus on correcting spelling, grammar, usage and punctuation errors. They will change improper language and suggest alternate phrasing when poor wording is used. The editors will alter sentences that sound awkward or unnatural and may point out portions of your document that are vague, confusing or simply need to be rewritten. Premium Document EditingOur premium document editing is performed by two subject expert editors and approved by a managing editor. In this process, the first subject editor provides the same type of editing done during our Standard Document Proofing. The second editor will then reedit the document, checking for omissions and offering more nuanced suggestions for language improvement. Our second round of editing places additional emphasis on the overall flow and sound of the document. With PDE, you can expect more suggestions regarding the finer points of language and style. Furthermore, the use of an additional editor inherently produces a more thorough editing of the document. Our PDE service also incorporates an editing summary: a short document that assesses the editing performed on your manuscript and addresses any concerns or comments the editors may have. Our GuaranteeAJE stands behind the quality of our work. We are confident that our editing will improve your chances of publication. If your manuscript is rejected from publication for reasons of English alone, and we believe that you have made a good faith effort to incorporate our changes, we will reedit your manuscript for free. Unfortunately we cannot promise to reedit manuscripts that undergo rewriting after our editors have performed their revisions. For that reason, we suggest that you submit your manuscript to us in its final form, just before you send it to the journal. If you have any complaint about the quality of our work, please click here. Editing ToolsAJE accepts submissions in two forms: Microsoft Word Documents (preferred) and text documents. Once we receive your submission, we use a tool built into Microsoft Word called "Track Changes" to edit your document. This feature is present in all Microsoft Word editions under the "Tools" bar. After we edit your submission, you will get a finished document back that shows you the changes we suggest. If you open your finished document in Microsoft Word, you will have the option of accepting or rejecting any changes that we have suggested. Therefore, if for some reason you disagree with one of our suggestions, you have the option to accept all of the edits but the one you dislike. For more suggestions to help you make the best use of our service, please visit our submission suggestions. Editing SampleThe best way to explain the service AJE provides is to show you an example. Here is a sample paragraph from a manuscript that AJE would receive: Our Editors would read this paragraph and return it with their suggestions in the following form: |
